I have been running Virtual Box 4.3.30 (and many earlier versions of Virtual Box) with both a Linux and a Windows 10 virtual machine. All the Windows 8 and application software and the Epson software is up-to-date at the most recent levels and results in error-free scanning from any Windows 8 application.
I have a Windows 8 desktop PC with an Epson Workforce 645 AIO attached via USB.
